International and EU cooperation

The Ministry of Regional Development’s work is based on Act No. 2/1969 Coll., on Establishment of Ministries and Other Central Government Bodies, as amended. The Ministry performs tasks within its sphere of duties as laid down in laws and other generally binding regulations (Government Decrees) and the tasks arising from the Czech Republic's membership in the European Union and other groupings and international organisations, e.g. the United Nations.

The Ministry negotiates international treaties, ensures the development of international relations. The Ministry within its competencies develops international cooperation, especially in the field of Cohesion Policy, Regional Policy, housing, urban development, tourism etc.
