The Ministry of Regional Development provides practical guidance in the public contract award process and co-ensures development of related legal norms. The Ministry administers an “Information System on Public Contracts” and Public Procurement Portal.

The subject-matter of the Ministry’s work pertaining to public contracts consists in the practical guidance of the public contract award process under currently valid legislation so that the public contract award process may lead to economical, non-discriminatory and transparent use of public resources.

The Ministry co-provides for legislative drafts of the Act on Public Contracts and its compliance with legislative amendments to EU legal regulations; it draws up expert opinions and represents the Czech Republic in inter-ministerial working groups with European and world organisations in relation to public procurement and public-private sector cooperation.

The publication sub-system, list of approved economic operators, list of systems of certified economic operators and statistical outputs on public contracts are integral parts of the Information System on Public Contracts.
