EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The meeting will focus on the programme’s implementation and content with emphasis on the Presidency and related outputs.

CONTENT:
Twice a year, the ESPON EGTC regularly organizes an expert conference for European researchers, academics and scientists to actively share information, experience and ideas inspired by the results of projects, analytical research and targeted analyses, and data resulting from ESPON tools.
The conference will focus on supporting innovations in vulnerable regions in challenging times, such as searching for tools, best practices and sharing experience with the programme's member states to enable institutions in economically and socially vulnerable regions to create better environments for utilizing innovations and benefit from them during the post-pandemic crisis. In the context of vulnerable regions, the crisis brings about not only serious economic, social and structural impacts, but also the opportunity to innovate, digitalise and support new solutions and new approaches. The region's ability to utilize such opportunities and create a suitable environment is very important. Based on the results of an analytical study conducted in cooperation with the ESPON EGTC and Ministry of Regional Development, the participants of the conference will discuss the expert recommendations for decision-makers on all levels.
The topic of the conference is also discussed and promoted at the DGTC meeting.
The conference includes a plenary session for all participants, as well as smaller workshops for experts. The conference will be launched by the presiding Member State’s Minister responsible for Cohesion Policy.
