The Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic (MRD) belongs to the system of central bodies of the state administration of the Czech Republic in areas defined by relevant legal documents. With its powers, competences and responsibilities for managing funds, it plays an important role in government. The Ministry was established with effect from 1 November 1996 and is the central body of the state administration in matters of: regional policy, housing policy, development of housing and housing stock, rental of apartments and non-residential premises, planning, building regulations, expropriation, investment policy, tourism , public auctions and real estate activities, funeral services.

THE CYPRUS PRESIDENCY: 1 JULY – 31 DECEMBER 2026

Ireland assumed the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the period from 1 July to 31 December 2026. As part of the Presidency Trio, Ireland is working closely with Lithuania and Greece.

The main priorities of the Irish Presidency are centred on three pillars: competitiveness, values and security.

The key areas advanced by Ireland during its Presidency include:

Strengthening the Single Market: Simplifying the business environment, further developing the Single Market and promoting investment.

Energy: Promoting clean energy and working to ensure affordable energy for citizens and businesses.

Security and Defence: Strengthening Europe’s resilience, supporting Ukraine and advancing negotiations on global security issues.

EU Enlargement: Continuing the integration process with candidate countries.
